I have a BBA in Business Management, was an international flight attendant for 12 years and an entrepreneur for 45 years  - retired in 2008, was a City Council and Planning & Zoning member and president of the Joshua Chamber of Commerce in Texas; also president of the League of Women Voter of Skagit County, the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, the AAUW Anacortes Branch, OARS and AWA, and have been on 12 boards of directorship.  I am especially proud to have chaired the building of a joint school/public library in the small town of Joshua.  I am now on the Finance and Programs Committees for AWA as well as chairing the Small Boat Maintenance Building Project with Skip Dassler. I was taught to give back to my community in whatever way I can.

I have been in Anacortes for 22 years, summer visits for 3 years before that, loved it and moved from Dallas-Fort Worth in 2000.  My husband of 50 years, Fortune (Tony), and I enjoy Fidalgo Island and all it has to offer. I enjoy flying light aircraft, biking, hiking, rowing, skiing, anything out doors.  My husband and I have had sail boats and are now retired from that.   I’ve been with AWA since January 2019, I envision this organization to be the premier community boating program in Anacortes in just a few years. In 3 short years it has grown tremendously and is now offering several programs to the community to get as many people onto the water as possible.  My son, Bart and daughter, Courtney along with her husband, Chad and their daughter, Collins, all live in Anacortes to make life even more wonderful.
